Mickeys

In our team we have probably something like 90 years' experience of working in IT – between three of us – and none of us had ever heard this term.

And in any case the answer given is wrong. It's not the speed of a mouse that's measured in mickeys; it's the distance travelled. The speed is measured in mickeys per second. It has a name (apparently) because designers like to know how far (in pixels) the pointer moves on the screen per unit of distance travelled by the mouse on the desktop or pad. The ratio can be expressed as 'pixels per mickey'.

You'd probably guess that with a name like that it would have to be something to do with a mouse. But if you knew it was a unit of distance and you were denied the points because the answer given talked about speed, you would not be best pleased.
